How to measure your chest, waist and pant waist (with picture)
- Chest. Stand relaxed with your arms at your sides. Wrap the tape under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest and across your shoulder blades. Keep it level and snug, not tight.
- Waist (stomach). Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your stomach, level with your belly button. Relax and don't pull in. This is the waist number our jackets use.
- Pant waist. Measure where your trousers actually sit, often just below the belly button, with the tape level. Or lay a pair of trousers that fit you flat, measure straight across the top of the waistband, and double it.
Measure over a thin shirt, with someone helping if you can. Enter inches (centimeters divided by 2.54). Chest goes in the box lower down. Waist and pant waist go in the boxes just below.
Know your chest? Skip the estimate.
Suggestions are an estimate from height and weight. Build varies, so check the jacket chest figure against your own measurements. Between two sizes, going up is the safer choice, since a jacket is easier to take in than to let out. All items are made to order and cannot be returned, so please compare the jacket measurements, including sleeve length, with the size chart before ordering. If your arms, shoulders or build are not average, email us your measurements before you order and we'll check the size with you.
Jacket size
Pick by your body chest. The figures shown are the jacket's own measurements, larger than the body by design. Chest decides your size unless your waist is wider than the jacket's waist. Then your waist decides. Want a roomier fit? Go up one size, since a jacket is easier to take in than to let out.
Length
Pick your length by height: Short 5'6"–5'8", Regular 5'9"–5'11", Long 6'0"–6'3". When you use this size, we also select that length in the options above.
